Specialist mental health and learning disability services require specialist nurses. Here at St Andrew's Healthcare, we are committed to providing nurses with continuous opportunities for professional development including externally taught diplomas/degrees in teaching, research and in a variety of clinical specialities. In addition, we have an excellent internal programme of training for nurses provided by The Lady Braye Centre for continuous professional development. Clinically appropriate induction, clinical supervision and Individual Performance Reviews are an integral part of supporting and enhancing nursing practice within the Hospital.
At St Andrew's Healthcare, well integrated multi-disciplinary teams utilise research evidence, skilled therapeutic relationships, clinical experience and knowledge in pursuit of high quality individual packages of care for our service users.
We believe that mental health and learning disability nurses have a unique contribution to make. There are over 350 Registered Mental Health and Learning Disability nurses at the Northampton site currently developing their career with St. Andrew's Healthcare and gaining valuable experience, working within multi-disciplinary teams to provide professional care.
