How to be referred to St Andrew's Healthcare

Planned Admissions for Adult Secure Mental Health, Adolescent Secure Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Continuing Care
  • To obtain treatment a referral in writing is required from your GP or Consultant Psychiatrist. Alternatively your GP or Consultant can complete the relevant referral form for the service required (see below for list of referral form downloads) and enclose any additional information (eg. psychiatric reports etc).

  • The referral letter/form and additional information, including information on who will be responsible for funding the placement, should be sent to the Admissions Office by fax or post

  • The referral will be forwarded to the appropriate consultant and discussed with the appropriate clinical team

  • An assessment of the patient will be carried out

  • Upon clinical acceptance the Admissions Officer organises initial funding and will liaise with referrers, if required, regarding Mental Health Act issues

  • Our Admissions Office will offer help to you during the referral procedure
